Afterthought HARBOUR ISLAND

Situated in the heart of Dunmore Town on a hill one block above the bay, Afterthought Cottage is a true gem that has been totally rebuilt using the finest of materials and fixtures and tastefully furnished by a proud and loving family to provide all modern comforts and conveniences without sacrificing its 19th century Bahamian charm. The house is bright and spacious with 8′ ceilings on the first floor and cathedral ceilings on the second. The centrally air conditioned cottage sleeps eight, with a first floor king-size master bedroom and bath with built-in, user-coded safe and flat screen TV, spacious living room with large flat screen TV and DVD player, dining room seating eight, butler’s pantry with sink, second dishwasher and wine/beverage cooler, office equipped with local Bahamian phone, Vonage phone for complimentary calls to the U.S. and Canada, Wi-Fi, computer printer/copier/fax machine and stereo system with iPod docking station, and an all new kitchen with island seating and stainless steel appliances. Off the kitchen is a covered outdoor veranda 40′ long by 11′ wide running the width of the house and boasting a wicker swing, outdoor living room with seating for eight and an outdoor dining area for eight. The veranda overlooks a terrace with gas barbecue, outdoor hot/cold shower and beautiful 14′ plunge pool abutting a private, well-landscaped garden. Two kayaks are available for those sports enthusiasts. No need to worry about losing electricity, as Afterthought has its own full-house generator. All four bedrooms and the veranda have ceiling fans. On the second floor there are three large bedrooms: one with a king bed, one with a queen and one with 2 twins. The second floor bathroom suite includes two individual lavatory/washrooms and a separate shower room. A new washer/dryer is conveniently closeted off the hallway. There is a spacious, newly-furnished 32′ X 6′ deck off the second floor and it provides easy access to the large 14′ X 9′ roof deck with its spectacular views of the bay and famous Harbour Island sunsets.
